Submission methods

There are currently 3 ways to file a complaint with the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station:

  1. Appear in person at the territorial SES office. This option is not very effective, since you will have to find the right words and tell the whole situation orally, without missing any details. Shyness or too strong emotions can interfere with this.
  2. Send via mail. It is better to use registered mail.
  3. Send an electronic complaint through the official website of Rospotrebnadzor, since the sanitary and epidemiological station is a division of this organization .

Grounds for filing a complaint

There is special sanitary legislation in force on the territory of the Russian Federation, which is aimed at ensuring compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards by the population of the country, including private and public enterprises. The basis for filing a complaint with the SES may be any violation of this legislation.

As an example, we can highlight the following factors that make it possible to file a complaint with the SES:

  1. The company operates illegally.
  2. The legal entity provides low-quality services and goods.
  3. Due to the consumption of products purchased at a retail outlet, the citizen’s health condition worsened.
  4. Violations were discovered in the purchase and sale agreement.
  5. The citizen identified sanitary violations (for example, the premises in which services are provided does not comply with sanitary rules and regulations, materials intended for one-time use are used several times, etc.).

Only individual cases are listed above. You can complain about any violations in the field of sanitary legislation.

Who do citizens complain about most often?

A prerequisite for filing a complaint is that it contains information about the organization violating sanitary legislation.
The list of institutions that citizens complain about is quite long. Complaints are filed against kindergartens, schools, medical institutions, beauty salons, and hairdressers.

However, most often the complaints relate to the activities of various retail outlets, especially those that distribute food products.

The reason for this is that violations of sanitary standards most often lead to negative results in this area. The same applies to public catering establishments, such as restaurants, cafes, bars.
