What is SNILS

A similar abbreviation abbreviates the insurance number of the individual personal account of an individual insured in the compulsory pension insurance system in Russia. Why do you need a pension certificate?

SNILS is a unique 11-digit number that is assigned to each recipient of the certificate. The combination is divided into three groups of 3 numbers, separated by a hyphen. The last two are control ones. Please note that there are no policies on which three or more numbers are repeated in a row. The number is never repeated and does not change even when the card is replaced. The insurance certificate is a plastic (laminated in older versions) green card, on which, in addition to the personal number, there is other information about the owner:

• Full Name;
• Date and place of birth;
• floor;
• date of issue.

• calculation of pensions and other social benefits;

Please note that SNILS is mandatory for everyone who wants to find a job. Without this document, the employer has every right to refuse the applicant. An exception is if a citizen gets a job for the first time. In this case, the employer is obliged to independently issue an insurance certificate for him.
